Anne Bennett, Acting Executive Director

Anne Bennett is an international development expert with extensive experience in creating and managing complex radio and journalism projects in challenging post-war and development contexts: Sierra Leone, Sudan, South Sudan, Algeria, and North East India. She is also a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. As Executive Director of Hirondelle USA from 2013 through April 2016, she was responsible for providing the leadership, vision, and direction for HUSA, and for the management of its day-to-day operations and activities. Prior to joining HUSA, Bennett managed operations for Fondation Hirondelle is Sierra Leone, Sudan and South Sudan. She is recognized for successfully engaging effective multi-year support from international donors as well as partner organizations. She is a founding Board Member of Media Matters for Women, a media start up using Bluetooth to engage and inform women in West Africa and is a member of the Advisory Board for Mina’s List, working to empower women’s leadership globally. She graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a degree in History and holds a Masters in International History and Politics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, University of Geneva.

Daniela Vidal, Project Assistant

Daniela Vidal studies journalism at the University of Missouri, specializing in radio reporting and producing. Her Colombian heritage has shaped her aspiration to find ways to improve access to information in developing countries.
